Psychological Wounds
So it turns out, James killed Mary.
In the ending I got, James leaves Silent Hill. The second half of the letter is about acceptance, because despite how illness had destroyed their life and relationship, Mary apologizes and hopes that James can find happiness. I don’t disagree with her message.
He did it because she was sick and he wanted his life back. But, the regrets led him to Silent Hill, where he went looking for the wife he killed.
